I skipped the first rallies at City Hall on Wednesday of the DNC and headed to the Wells Fargo Center late in the afternoon. After trying to watch the premiere of a documentary that was ended early by protesters I decided to leave. As I was walking up Broad Street with some other photographers I checked Twitter to see that a DNC painted coffin had been thrown over the gate, some one had breached the fence, and police were moving in.
I got back to the protest after anarchist tried to burn another flag, and a Sanders supporter had accidentally set himself on fire while trying to stomp it out. This lead to heated arguments between the Bernie camp and anarchist. Eventually the protesters who supported Bernie Sanders separated themselves by sitting on the ground and singing.
