Protests kicked off around noon on the first official day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Several groups gathered at City Hall and marched to the Wells Fargo Center where the DNC is being held. After the protest made it to the fencing blocking access to the convention a group calling themselves Democracy Spring occupied the entrance to the security check point. Police moved in and set up barricades, and the protesters attempted to climb over them. Once police got tired of stopping them, they allowed one protester to come over at a time to be zip tied and later issued a citation.
