Protests on the last day of the Republican National Convention started off with a march near Progressive Field. The Stand Against Trump march was comprised of different organizations, and was the largest since the first day of the convention. Protests continued through the day in Public Square with groups like Code Pink, Revolutionary Communists, and religious groups.
After dark I went to the street leading up to the entrance to the Quicken Loans Arena where Donald Trump’s nomination speech was being live broadcasted to people who could not get into the convention. As I was capturing people’s reactions to the speech, it was interrupted by a small group of protesters with a megaphone. Police escorted them out of the area and soon after the streets were empty.
I am now in Philadelphia for the first day of the Democratic National Convention. I will have a post of the protest that happened here yesterday before the convention officially began.
