After Fights Riot Police Disperse Crowds at San Diego Trump Protest

I took a train from LA to San Diego yesterday to cover the Trump protest at the San Diego Convention Center. This was by far the biggest anti Trump protest I have been to.

At one point a large group had marched to Chicano Park and I went with them. By the time I got back to the convention center Trump had finished speaking, and the crowds of supporters and protesters began to mix together. Fights started to break out, eggs were thrown by protesters, a Trump supporter sprayed the crowd with pepper spray, and trash was thrown back and forth between both sides before riot police started separating everyone.

Eventually police in riot gear pushed protesters and a few trump supporters onto the Coronado Bridge where pepper balls and smoke was used to clear the area.

I focused on shooting more video than I have at other events I’ve covered recently. I should have the finished video up later today.
